Holidays in Review: Angela Comes to Town
Angela in town = a weekend of serious NYC activities! Here are a few of the adventures this trip...
Our Broadway show list included Mary Poppins and the Little Mermaid! Thank you Disney!
Angela's neice Caroline was also in town on her first official 'girls trip' to The Big Apple!
And I must admit that we mastered all NYC Calypso Stores... Soho has 3 stores within a one block radius (two of which are outlets)- that is a lot of Pazzi!
Is any trip complete without a grilled cheese sandwich and oreo shake from Milkshake Company?

The Rockefeller Tree is always a sight!

Holidays in Review: Our Tree
One of our favorite Christmas traditions is getting our tree from one of the NYC street vendors. The vendors usually set up shop the first weekend after Thanksgiving--- replacing the usual "questionable" smells of the sidewalks with pine and fir tree goodness!
We base our tree selection on two questions: 'Which one can fit in our apartment?' and 'Which one has the most character?'
character= missing a limb here and there, not as full as the others, big around the middle and small at the bottom, or any other "charlie brown" tree characteristics you can think of.
This years pick was a Balsam Pine--- skinny (great for space issues), lots of character, and he smelled like Christmas! He was a great addition to our holiday festivities!
This is the tree section that always prompts the question: "How big does one's apartment have to be to fit a Christmas tree this size?"

The Holidays in Review: Ida Comes Home
Ida spent a month at home in Dallas with Grumps--- keeping him company with Mama Jan away in DC. After some major flight troubles, Ida made it back to the Big Apple. Flying with Ida might be one of my least favorite things to do! At least Ida got some serious happy pills to make it through the ordeal!
(sorry about the video commentary... I am on the phone with MJ)

Does it worry anyone else that they don't check to see if anyone (much less the rightful owner) is there to get the cutest basset hound in the world?

Happy 2009!
Working one block away from Times Square on New Years Eve is extreme people watching! Riff-Raff Galore! Major behind the scenes footage. Here a few images that did not make the New Year's Rockin' Eve Special!
Before:
During: (with the ball only a block away, we got some major "debris" at midnight)
After:
My fellow server, Shawn, and I rang in the New Year with a toast to polished glassware and automatic gratuity!
