What's In a Name?

Beth is 3 weeks old today... it is so hard to believe (especially since I've been wearing the same pajamas the entire time). Beth is a total rockstar and really taking to this whole "outside world" thing very nicely.

I wanted to share a little background on her name. You may remember that Bennet Ann is a family name, so we decided to stick to that trend with Beth. "Elizabeth" is my middle name and "Suzanne" is my sister Amy's middle name (after our Aunt Suzie Edgar). So Beth is taking on the names of both Langbein sisters... a pretty amazing combo... if I do say so myself!
There are a lot of "B's" in the Lee family now... Ida and I are pushing for the next Lee to be named "Sarida" just to even the playing field a little.

Ida?

Oh, not to worry, she is taking her role as a parent of 2 very seriously.

Slumber Party

On Beth's second night home, we had a few rough hours (imagine that??!). At one point, we all went in to check on Bennet, and Bryant and I put Beth in the crib with her for fun. Beth immediately calmed down and snuggled as close as she could to her big sister.

And what did their nurturing parents do? We flipped on all the lights to take pictures of this proud moment.

Bennet's First Opera

Bennet and Noah went to see their first opera, "The Velveteen Rabbit." They both lasted the entire 45 minute show and totally dug it! It was performed at the Miller Outdoor Theater by the Houston Grand Opera's "Opera to Go" program.
Bennet's favorite parts:
"a pino" (piano)
"opwa, people singing"
"a fawee pincess- puhple dwess- coming help bunny wabbit"

I Ride a Choo Choo Twain

Bennet and I went to ride the choo-choo around Hermann Park last week and had a blast (not pictured: the meltdown that ensued when we had to leave the choo-choo).
Mama wore her red "banana" and Bennet wore the pink "banana."
We rocked the caboose (I taught her one of life's important lessons... all the cool kids sit in the back... you should always point and laugh at anyone who sits in the front... I am still amazed at my natural parenting abilities).

The Aquarium

Bennet, Cooper, and Noah went to the Houston Aquarium and had a ball.
Besides the "big fish" we also saw the "big cat."
