Swimsuit

Bennet put her swimsuit on all by herself today... And then sat in her chair and modeled it for me. All we are missing is a waterfall in the background! It's a little troubling that she is so good at the pouty lips.

Pooh

Bennet went to see her first official movie last week, Winnie the Pooh. We lasted all but the last 10 minutes of the movie. The popcorn was a big hit (wonder where she got that)! Our friend Noah, Sarah and Cappy joined us for the event.

Katisha

My performance as Katisha in Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Mikado" was one of the big adventures of the summer. The show's run was a success and we got a great review in the Houston Chronicle. Thank you so much for everyone who came to see the show--- it really meant so much to have each of you there!

First Hair Cut

While I am still just calling it a "trim"... Bennet did go to see Haley and get her locks evened up a little... we are all trying to look our best for Amy's wedding! When Haley asked if I wanted to keep some of her hair- I said, "ew, why?" But apparently mom's are supposed to save hair from the first cut to put in their baby book. Woops! Thank goodness it was just a trim!

As you can see, Bennet was very serious about her styling. She just sat there, chilled, and judged Haley's work.

The Ride of Amy's Life

Also at Riverbend Ranch was Amy's Bachelorette Party. It was a great evening celebrating Amy and her upcoming wedding! Those in attendance: Leigh, Carly, Mary Ellen, Janie, Brittany, Courtney, me, and "the bride."

Riverbend Ranch

We had a dual Amy Birthday/Father's Day Celebration at our friend Lori's Ranch. There were lots of Moo-Cows and catfish.
This Kuboda of trouble went on a nighttime wild hog hunt, but came back empty handed. I viewed it as a success that nobody was Cheney-ed.

Uncle D Graduates

Back in May, my brother-in-law, David, graduated with his MBA from Rice University. It was a happy day of celebration for the whole Lee family. David and Kristi moved to Dallas last week... man, we already miss them so much!
CONGRADUATION!

Fun Run

Bennet and I went to cheer on Dad in a 5K run to support our church's youth group trip to Belize. Somehow Bennet did not win the costume contest (and if you must know, I was matching her in a white chicken hat--- a lady from Germany, yes Germany, came up to me and asked what our hats meant... I had no answer for such a deep question other than, "it's Saturday").

Showering Heather

The beginning of summer also marked a time where I got to help celebrate my friend Heather and the upcoming arrival of her son! Cedar Creek Lake was an awesome setting to shower the mother-to-be!

Dallas Trip

We got to spend some time in Dallas with the Langbeins.
The Genesis Mother's Day Luncheon was quite the event and Mr. Tom Brokaw was an amazing guest speaker. I even got the chance to meet him for a moment... I think he was quite taken with me.
Dallas Mavericks playoff game (game 3 of Laker series) was another major hi-light. Tyler, Bryant, Grumps, Amy, Scooter, and I did our part to cheer the Mavs on to the championship. I pretty much just wore my 3 point goggles the entire game.

Then there was this guy: A Lakers fan taunting the stadium... brave or stupid... I will let you decide.
And what is a trip to Dallas without S&D Oyster Bar?!

Where to begin...

So... lots has been going on! I am not even sure where to begin. Hold on, my 20 month old just demanded to hear Raffi, so I need a moment to acquiesce to her request. Excellent- Oats and Beans and Barley Grow!

That have been many big events since Easter that have been ignored, so be prepared for some serious catch up.

First up, Cabo San Lucas (circa the end of April). Yes, Mom was blessed with an amazing girls trip.
Not to worry, we set our alarms for the Royal Wedding and watched it in Spanish until we found the English channels 2 days later.
I spent most of my time reading some great beach reads (Something Borrowed, Water for Elephants) and drinking virgin Miami Vices.
It was such a great trip with lots of guac, refried beans, and magazines (what a great combo)!
(Please be aware that Bryant was able to spell "acquiesce" without looking it up)
