Our Week in Dallas

On the way home from Lost Pines, we had a mandatory stop in West, TX (that's West Comma Texas). Anyone who frequents I-35 between Dallas and Austin knows the glory that is a kolache from West. The Czech Bakery, though housed in a gas station, is famous for its unbeatable sausage kolaches and amazing fruit kolaches! It seriously is one of the reasons I am proud to be a Texan!

Another I-35 wonder... the Monolithic Dome Insitute. CLICK HERE to learn more.

Ida loves a good roadtrip across Texas!

The Averitts, the Perkins, and the Lee's are all due within weeks of each other. What an exciting holiday season we are going to have! (successfully breeding HPHS legacies)

Our friend, Charlie Averitt, came to visit Ida while we were in town. He kept a safe distance at first, but soon realized that a basset hound can be fun!

I even got to see my double-niece Perry (aka: Miss Thing) who just celebrated her 2nd birthday!

So long, farewell Reunion Arena... I will always cherish our memories of Alan Jackson concerts and Mavericks games (the old school ones with Shawn Bradley and Jason Kidd (the first time))

We marked the end of our Dallas week and summer in Texas with Mama Jan's 60th Birthday Party: Champagne and Cupcakes!
